When you run Visual Logic, you will be asked to browse to your VLSig file. The VLSig file will provide an electronic signature to authenticate your work.IF YOU ALREADY HAVE YOUR VLSig File and you just need to download the newest version of the Visual Logic software, click download. Review the Sample Program #3 on pages 83-87 in A Guide to Working with Visual Logic ® for an example of using files. Have the txt files, your Visual Logic ® program, the Visual Logic ® exe file, and the VLSig file in the same folder. Put quotes around each name in the text (txt) file. When you adopt Visual Logic 2.x, you can download and install the software as broadly as you want, including on your campus network, in your labs (regardless of the number of machines), and on student and faculty home machines. WORK AUTHENTICATION (Signature Files) With Visual Logic 2.x, a student obtains a license to use Visual Logic with the purchase of a PIN code. The student visits the Visual Logic web site () to consume the PIN which creates a personalized Signature file (VLSig) that uniquely identifies that student. Each time a student runs Visual Logic, the session is authenticated via the VLSig file. All work done during that session is tagged as being authenticated by that specific student. ![]() ![]() Instructors can verify who authenticated the work when they grade the files. • The first step is to use Notepad or some similar text editor to create a text file named 'input.txt'. The file should contain one data input per line. Save the input.txt file in the same directory as your solution file (.vls). • Select 'Tools| Testing. ' to run your program in Trace mode, creating a TraceIO.txt file. Open the trace file to view the program run. Note: A varient of the trace file option can be used by Instructors to grade students' work faster and with more accuracy. TEXT TO SPEECH SUPPORT A new, fun twist introduced in version 2.1 is the VL Text To Speech functionality.
